It’s been a while

Since I looked back at happiest memories of my childhood,
Since I looked at the bucket list of my teenage years.
It’s been a while since I reflected the growth;
Seems ages ago that I said, “I’m proud of you,” in the mirror.

It seems long time since I wiped my tears—no, you’re wrong, and it’s okay, learn it for the next.
It’s been a long since I said to myself, “Hey, don’t be afraid. You got this.”

Been a while since I let the demons take over and shadows of doubts grow over.
Been a while since I laughed out loud with a stranger's kids, making goofy faces.
Been a while since chasing those small dreams—falling, failing, and saying, “Yes, that’s it.”

It definitely isn’t a while since I said, “No, you’re being disrespectful.”
It’s just a while since I said, “Thank you, I hear your apology,” and, “I don’t accept your apology.”

It’s just been days since I wake up and sleep with a smile.
It's just a while since I conquer my fears constantly.

It seems a while, and just a while ago, I said, “Life, let’s go.”
It seems a while ago I was a kid and an adult, and seems the childishness walked back again to a messy adult.

It seems a while ago I knew what exactly to write.

A while ago, it seems...

Bigger Person!

In the process of being the bigger person, people often think you're easy—someone who will always come back, no matter what. The art of being a better person is often confused with being the bigger person. For me, when you have to be the bigger person, you don't have to forgive every single person for their every single mistake. "Mistake" might be the wrong word, as who are we to judge, but if soemone has hurt you, then you don't have to accept their apologies without a genuine apology from them. In the act of forgiveness, you tend to carry all the dead weight of your life! Yes, you heard me right!
